FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 22, 2009

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1410 by Ortiz, Jr. (relating to student information required to be provided at the time of enrollment in public schools. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  School districts would likely incur some administrative costs in implementing the bill’s requirements to collect and maintain information concerning students’ food allergies and to ensure that required signage is displayed in classrooms.  Costs to individual school districts would vary, depending on the number of students with food allergies.
