LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2009

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1410 by Ortiz, Jr. (Relating to student information required to be provided at the time of enrollment in public schools.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

School districts would likely incur some administrative costs in implementing the bill’s requirements for each district to collect and compile data on public school students’ food allergy information and to post the appropriate signs in classrooms.  These costs for school districts would vary, depending on the number of students with food allergies.
