LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 23, 2009

TO:
Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles, Chair, House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1530 by Button (Relating to the licensing and regulation of health-related pest control by the Department of Agriculture.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to transfer the licensing and regulation of health-related pest control from the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to the Department of Agriculture (TDA).

Based on information provided by TDA, this analysis assumes that 1.0 FTE and any necessary funding for salaries and operating costs related to the licensing and regulation of health-related pest control would be transferred from DSHS to TDA.  This analysis assumes there would be no significant fiscal impact to the state as a result of this transfer.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
