No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require public water systems responsible for any hydrant to paint the hydrant or the hydrant cap using a color coding system for identifying the hydrant's use. Not later than January 1, 2010, each public water system responsible for hydrants would be required to ensure that its hydrants comply with Section 341.0357, Health and Safety Code, as amended by the bill.
