No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Business & Commerce Code to prohibit an internet service provider from offering a consumer a contract for internet service that contains a cancellation fee or a time period in which a consumer may not cancel. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
