No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 38.005(b) of the Utilities Code to delete the requirement that the Public Utility Commission (PUC) take appropriate enforcement action against a utility if any of the utility's feeders with 10 or more customers has had a System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) or System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) average of more than 300 percent greater than the system average of all feeders during any two-year period. The bill would authorize the PUC to take appropriate enforcement action, but not require it. The bill would require the PUC to adopt rules to conform existing rules to the bill's provisions.

The PUC anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
