No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the governor to designate the South Texas International Airport at Edinburg as the state headquarters for providing disaster relief in the Rio Grande Valley following the governor’s declaration of a state of disaster in an area within the Rio Grande Valley.  The bill would be effective immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds or on September 1, 2009.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
