LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 8, 2009

TO:
Honorable Patrick M. Rose, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2224 by Parker (Relating to the minimum standards for licensed child-care facilities and registered family homes.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add to the requirements in Chapter 42, Human Resources Code, for minimum standards for registered family homes and child-care facilities. It would require that standards be set to ensure that these operations follow the directions of a child's physician or other health care provider in providing specialized medical assistance required by the child. The Department of Family and Protective Services indicates that the costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
