No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require an examination of a voting system or voting system equipment to be conducted at an open meeting subject to Chapter 551 of the Government Code.  The bill would require an audiovisual recording of the examination be created and made available to the public on request. The bill would be effective September 1, 2009.

Local Government Impact

The bill would require an audiovisual recording of an examination of a voting system or voting system to be created and made available to the public on request. According to Harris, Dallas, Williamson, Tarrant, Lubbock, and Tom Green Counties, the fiscal impact is not anticipated to be significant.
