FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 27, 2009

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2480 by Hochberg (Relating to school district agreements with junior colleges for courses for joint high school and junior college credit.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

To the extent the bill would increase the generation of state-fundable contact hours at certain community college districts, the bill could result in a larger share of future appropriations of formula funding for affected community college districts.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  School districts would be authorized to establish partnerships with a junior colleges for dual credit courses without regard to location within the junior college's service area.
