No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure regarding the admissibility of a statement made by an accused in a criminal proceeding. 

Local Government Impact

The bill, if enacted, would result in local governments incurring some additional operational, overtime, and training costs. The level of fiscal impact  would depend on the size of the local governmental entity. The City of Abilene anticipates annual costs between $12,000 and $27,000. The City of Waco anticipates annual costs totalling $12,000.
