No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and provides that any funds recovered by the Attorney General’s Office (OAG) as civil penalties pursuant to an action under the Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act are to be credited to the judicial fund for certain approved programs providing civil legal services to the indigent. Based on information provided by the OAG, it is assumed that an extimated $500,000 per fiscal year would be deposited into the judicial fund.
