No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Property Code and require a landlord to apply any funds received by the tenant first to the rent and then to any other charges owed by the tenant, unless the tenant directs otherwise. It is assumed that any costs associated with implementation of the bill would not be significant.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
