LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 22, 2009

TO:
Honorable Troy Fraser, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2569 by Hancock (Relating to a specialty insurance agent license for certain vendors of portable electronic devices.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code to clarify the specialty insurance agent license for certain vendors of portable electronic devices. The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) currently does issue this type of license and would need to amend the agency's rules to comply with the changes in statute. TDI indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
