No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code prohibiting a person from being eligible as a candidate for an elected or appointed public elective office if the person has been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor offense relating to sexual or assaultive offenses. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
