HB2682 by Alvarado (Relating to the authority of municipalities to alter speed limits.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to remove certain restrictions currently in place as to where a municipality has the authority to declare a lower speed limit of not less than 25 miles per hour on certain types of highways in an urban district if the governing body determines that the prima facie speed limit on the highway in the municipality is unreasonable or unsafe. 


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
