No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to continuing legal education for certain government attorneys. The bill would require that seats for certain government attorneys be set aside at no charge at continuing legal educution in which the State Bar is involved. To the extent the rules change would alter what certain government attorneys pay to attend continuing legal education, the effect is not anticipated to be significant. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives two-thirds votes in both houses, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
