No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would provide that a student may be transferred out of a bilingual education or other special language program if the student demonstrates proficiency in both the student’s primary language and English, exhibits satisfactory performance on the reading assessment instrument in English, and exhibits other indications of the student’s overall progress. The provisions of the bill would apply beginning with the 2009–2010 school year.

No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
