LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 1, 2009

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2767 by Anderson (Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for justices of the peace.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation to issue specialty license plates for current justices of the peace without charge and authorizes the issuance of three sets of the specialty license plates per person.

Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact to State Highway Fund Revenues; and any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
