LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 2, 2009

TO:
Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2835 by Marquez (Relating to the delegation of duties of a county judge in certain counties.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to include a county judge located in a county with a population of more than 600,000 that is located on the international border regarding certain duties. Based on that criteria, the 2000 U.S. Census population report, and geography, the bill would apply only to El Paso County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
