IN RE:
HB2847 by Riddle (Relating to using county election precincts for any election held on the November uniform election date.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code requiring county election precincts to be used for any election of a political subdivision that is held on the November uniform election date, but would exempt a district created under Section 52, Article III, or Section 59, Article XVI of the Texas Constitution related to a Municipal Utility District (MUD) that is located in or adjacent to a county with a population of more than 3.3 million. Based on the applicability criteria of this section, it would exempt Harris County Municipal Utility Districts.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
