April 7, 2009

TO:

IN RE:
HB3042 by Farias (Relating to a study regarding changing the state minimum wage to the living wage.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend statute and require the Comptroller to conduct a study on the probable effects on state expenditures for state-provided benefits, including net savings relating to the provision of those benefits, if the state changed the minimum wage to a living wage. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
