No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to add commissioned security officers to the list of those for whom taking a weapon from or attempting to take a weapon from is punished under 38.14, Penal Code. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009 and apply only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of the Act. It is assumed that the bill would not significantly affect the operations of state or local government.
