No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow a judge of a district court, statutory county court, or county court to appoint a bailiff, or request a county sheriff to provide a bailiff to serve as a courtroom security officer, to attend the needs of a jury for a civil or ciminal case, and to act under a judge's direction in a courtroom proceeding. A county sheriff at the request of a judge would be required to provide a deputy sheriff, peace office, or other person qualified to serve as a bailiff.
