IN RE: | HB3313 by Gonzales (Relating to the authority of a county to obtain a lien against property of a landowner to secure payment of a fee for the installation, operation, and maintenance of street lights.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend Section 280.003, Transportation Code, to authorize a county commissioners court to obtain a lien against property to secure payment of a fee imposed by an authorized order related to street lights along a county road. The bill would stipulate the procedures the commissioners court must follow.
The proposed change in law would apply only to an assessment of a fee on or after the effective date of the bill, which would be September 1, 2009.
Section 280.003, Transportation Code, applies only to the unincorporated area of a county that has any of its territory located within 150 miles of an international boundary.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
