No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would permit a local governmental entity the exclusive right to determine the line of vegetation or natural line of vegetation used in determining the location of a public beach, instead of the Land Commissioner. A local governmental entity would be required to consult with the Bureau of Economic Geology of the University of Texas at Austin when making a determination regarding the line of vegetation, or the effect of a meteorological event on the easement of a public beach. No significant fiscal impact to the Bureau of Economic Geology or the General Land Office is expected as a result of the bill's passage.

The costs to a local governmental entity to implement the provisions of the bill are not anticipated to be significant.
