LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2009

TO:
Honorable Burt R. Solomons, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3691 by Deshotel (Relating to shipping coordination services for state agencies.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Government Code and require the Comptroller to contract with a vendor to provide shipping coordination services to all state agencies. Although the exact services of a shipping coordination vendor are unknown at this time, it is possible that such a vendor could add additional efficiencies and cost savings to some state shipping activities. For purposes of this analysis it is assumed that any cost savings associated with implementation of the bill would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
