TO: | Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB3760 by Oliveira (Relating to a fee associated with the assignment of a vehicle identification number by the Texas Department of Transportation.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The revenue gain would vary by county or municipality depending on how many inspections are conducted and whether the law enforcement agency chooses to impose the $40 fee. As an example, Harris County reports, based on the number of inspections conducted by the sheriff's office in the previous two years, that implementation would result in a revenue gain of $2,160 per year.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
