The bill would provide for the State Preservation Board to be solely responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the Governor's Mansion.
The bill would allow the State Preservation Board to accept gifts, grants, and donations on behalf of the Governor's Mansion.
The bill would repeal statute providing for the Historical Commission to be solely responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the Governor's Mansion.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to
each house, otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
It is assumed that any additional duties and responsibilities required by the bill could be absorbed
within existing resources.
