No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prohibit a person who is not certified by the Commission on Fire Protection as a fire inspector to conduct a fire safety inspection required by state law, rule, regulation, or ordinance. A fire safety inspection would be required to be in accordance with the most recent local fire code or the most recent fire code adopted by the state fire marshal. The bill would apply only to a fire safety inspection that occurs on or after September 1, 2011.
