No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to expand the list of those eligible to be a veterans county service officer.

The bill would amend the Government Code regarding veteran's employment preferences and provide for a procedure for an eligible veteran to appeal a hiring decision made by a state agency. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with the implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
