No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code by authorizing an officer or enlisted member of the state military forces to hold other civil offices.  The bill would take effect on January 1, 2010, only if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 81st Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, authorizing an officer or enlisted member of the Texas State Guard or other state militia or military force to hold other civil offices is approved by the voters.
 
The Adjutant General anticipates no fiscal impact from the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
