The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the construction of nonsubstantive codifications and revisions of statutes. To the extent the bill would add provisions relating to the exercise of the Supreme Court's jurisdiction, or the interpretation and application of nonsubstantive provisions by a court, an executive agency, or other entities, no significant affect on judicial workloads or fiscal impact to the State is anticipated. The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives two-thirds the vote of all members. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
