No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 2165.256(d) of Government Code to include eligibility for certain Texas Rangers to receive burial in the Texas State Cemetery.  The bill would allow officers and honorably retired officers of the Texas Rangers who served at least twelve years as an officer and attained the rank of at least captain, or who died in the line of duty, to be eligible for burial in the Texas State Cemetery.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2009, or immediately with two-thirds vote of all members of the Legislature.
