No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 2165.256(d) of Government Code to include eligibility for certain Texas Rangers to receive burial in the Texas State Cemetery.  The bill would allow an honorably retired officer of the Texas Rangers with at least 12 years of service or who died in the line of duty to be eligible for burial in the Texas State Cemetery.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2009, or immediately with two-thirds vote of all members of the Legislature.
