LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 21, 2009

TO:
Honorable Edmund Kuempel, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4195 by Legler (Relating to the membership of the Advisory Board on Cosmetology. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would increase the number of members on the Advisory Board of Cosmetology at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) from five to seven. The bill would require the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation to appoint the two new members as soon as practicable after the effective date of the act.

TDLR anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
