LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2009

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4332 by Hamilton (Relating to the certification of certain municipal police officers to enforce commercial motor vehicle safety standards.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on the population and geographical criteria within the bill, it appears it would affect only the City of Vidor.

The Department of Public Safety provides the training and certification for law enforcement officers to enforce commercial motor vehicle safety standards. However, based on the agency's analysis, there would be no fiscal impact to the state.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
