LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 15, 2009

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4407 by Taylor (Relating to maintaining a supply of anaphylaxis medicine on public school campuses served by school nurses.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would require the Commissioner of Education to adopt rules establishing the amount of anaphylaxis medicine maintained at a school campus.  The Texas Education Agency estimates that this cost would be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Costs for school districts, in implementing the bill’s requirement to maintain a supply of anaphylaxis medicine at each campus with a school nurse, could vary but are not expected to be significant on a statewide basis.
