No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require health occupation regulatory agencies to provide an annual report no later than February 1 of each year to the chairs of the House and Senate committees with primary oversight over the agency a variety of statistics about the population the agency licenses, the number of complaints the agency has received, fees collected, expenses of the agency, and unfunded needs. The bill would require the Health Professions Council to adopt a standard format for the report.

Based on the analysis of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, the Funeral Service Commission, the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the Board of Pharmacy, the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners, the Optometry Board, the Department of State Health Services, the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, the Health Professions Council, the Texas Board of Nursing, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and the Texas Medical Board, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
