The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code and require motor vehicle repair shops to make certain disclosures to consumers, relating to cost of repair, prior to a car repair shop taking custody of a motor vehicle. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
