No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $90,882.


The resolution would propose a constitutional amendment that would require the Texas Veterans Commission and the Department of State Health Services to work with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and any other appropriate federal agency to establish a veteran’s hospital in the Rio Grande Valley region of the state. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
