No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $90,882.


The resolution would authorize local option elections to legalize or prohibit the operation of eight-liners in a defined area. The legislature may impose a fee on the machines or authorize a political subdivision to impose a fee. The rate of such fees and the allocation of revenue would be determined by the legislature.

Any fiscal impact would be associated with the enabling legislation.

The proposed amendment would be submitted to voters at an election to be held November 3, 2009.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
