No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the waiting period for issuing a decree in certain suits for divorce. The bill would amend the Family Code to allow the waiver of a 60 day waiting period in certain divorce suits involving domestic violence. To the extent the bill would amend procedures, the rules changes are not anticipated to increase the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house. If the bill does not receive the necessary votes the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
