TO: | Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB96 by Van de Putte (Relating to swimming pool and spa safety.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would require the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to adopt rules related to pool safety. It also would require the Department of State Health Services to conduct an education program that would periodically notify pool owners about the state and federal safety standards, and describe methods to prevent drowning. It is assumed that the cost of adopting rules and the education program can be absorbed within existing resources.
