No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 418, which would require the Governor’s Division of Emergency Management, in cooperation with the Department of Public Safety, to create a task force to study and develop uniform reentry procedures for essential personnel entering an area evacuated during a disaster or other emergency. The bill would take effect immediately if two-thirds of the members in both the House of Representatives and the Senate vote to approve the bill. If not, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2009.

DPS anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the agency.
