SB223 by West (Relating to allowing a person who successfully completes a term of deferred adjudication community supervision to be eligible for a pardon. ), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow the Governor to grant pardons for people who successfully complete a term of deferred adjudication community supervision under certain conditions.  The bill would also allow certain arrests to be expunged for people placed on deferred adjudication community supervision under certain condition.  The bill would be effective September 1, 2009 if the corresponding constitutional amendment is passed.  If the amendment is not approved by the voters, this bill would have no effect.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
