No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to adopt rules governing all aspects of the management and operation of new commercial underground injection control wells for industrial or municipal waste, including the regulation of surface facilities associated with the wells, for which a permit has not been issued on or before the effective date of the bill (September 1, 2009).
No significant fiscal impact to the TCEQ is expected as a result of the bill's passage.
