No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 701.006, Transportation Code, to remove certain procedures related to removal of a county traffic officer as those procedures affect actions authorized for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and a county commissioners court. The bill would also repeal Section 701.002(b), Transportation Code, to repeal the requirement that TxDOT advise county traffic officers on enforcement of state highway traffic regulation laws.
