No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 25.025, Tax Code, to keep the property tax information confidential for a criminal investigator of the United States and for a police officer or inspector of the United States Federal Protective Service. The bill would also amend Chapter 552.1175, Government Code, to allow these individuals to restrict public access to confidential information such as their home address, telephone number or social security number.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
