FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 3, 2009

TO:
Honorable Edmund Kuempel, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB470 by Carona (Relating to training and continuing education for licensed electrical apprentices. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 1305.002 of the Occupations Code to define apprenticeship training program. The bill would authorize the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to adopt rules regarding the registration of apprenticeship training programs and to require registered programs to report the names of persons enrolled in the programs.

TDLR anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
